About AIHC (Top of Page) |
| The
American Indian Health Commission for Washington (AIHC) was created in
1994 by federally recognized tribes, urban Indian health programs, and
Indian organizations to provide a forum for tribal-state health issues.
Membership is open to all federally recognized tribes in Washington State,
the Seattle Indian Health Board, and certain Indian organizations. Delegates
are officially appointed by each tribe through a tribal council resolution,
and representatives from Indian organizations are elected to at-large
positions.
