About Us
Governor's Task Force on Long Term Care - Tribal Forum
AIHC Meetings The Governor's Task Force  on Long Term Care is charged with developing recommendations to meet the long term care needs of citizens now and in the future. Already, long term care represents a significant share of state social services spending. Tribes have just begun to feel the impact of Long Term Care Services for their Elders. For many tribal communities the disconnect with the Area Agencies on Aging have proved to be a challenge.

In order to communicate these issues to the Task Force a Tribal forum has been scheduled, to be followed by a Task Force meeting. October 26th from 10-4 at the Muckleshoot Tribal Administration - Phillip Star Building
39015 - 172nd Avenue Southeast, Auburn, WA 98092 Rec. Phone: (253) 939-3311

AIHC is coordinating the tribal forum on Long Term Care Issues along with DSHS / Indian Policy Support Services, The Northwest Portland Area Indian Health Board and long-time advocates of Elder issues from across the state.  This is a major opportunity for the tribes to communicate the access issues and barriers to services, as well as recommendations for policy and systems changes for the future.
